SRK and Kajol Reunite: Khan Cast as College Freshman, Kajol to Play His Mother
MUMBAI - Sending shockwaves of nostalgia and biological confusion through the hearts of adoring fans, Dharma Productions officially announced that the iconic on-screen duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will reunite for the upcoming mega blockbuster: Student of the Decade
According to insiders, the firm represents a bold and boundary pushing leap forward. King Khan, currently a vibrant 60 years old, will step into the role of Rohan, a naive, bashful, 19-year-old college freshman navigating his first year of engineering. Kajol, aged 51, will star alongside him as his chronically longing, elderly mother.
‘Look, the chemistry between them is eternal,’ Johar said, visibly emotional. It’s beautiful that Bollywood still values groundbreaking, original storytelling over cheap, endless sequels.
Johar had a special treat for us at [name here], revealing a heavily airbrushed poster. ‘When Shah Rukh flips up the collar on that pastel polo shirt, basketball in hand, he instantly transforms into an affable teenager struggling to pass his midterms. Not to mention the austerity brought to screen by Kajol, who has matured into a magnificent performer. She brings that raw, maternal gravity to the role of a woman who birthed a man nine years her senior.
Industry sources report that the film's budget has already eclipsed $90 million. A specialised team of 400 outsourced, out-of-work digital artists in the US are currently working around the clock to digitally enhance Shah Rukh’s natural teenage aura. Their main task? Erasing his mortality, his laugh lines, memories of the 1990s, and hopefully, any lingering memories of his starring role in Zero.
"We aren't doing any of that fully digital de-aging nonsense," explained head of VFX, Amit Sharma. "Shah Rukh has simply agreed to wear his hair in a messy fringe, which has completely transformed his look to that of a 19-year-old. It’s uncanny.” He smiled as if recalling, "Meanwhile, our makeup department is doing incredible work applying grey streaks to Kajol’s hair and wrapping her in a beige shawl so the audience understands she is close to the end of her life."
EDIT:
Sources close to the production hint that the terminally youthful Amitabh Bachan has been cast as Kajol’s long-lost college sweetheart.
